Hi, I’m Katherine Smoot — a documentary-style filmmaker and photographer currently rooted in Utah! I’m a 22-year-old vintage-loving soul with short hair, a pair of well-loved Converse, and an ongoing craving for sushi.

I've been immersed in the beautiful offerings the creative world brings, my whole life; growing up painting & scrapbooking, skipping homework to take photos, spending summers editing videos of family trips, graduating at 18 to take the leap to a full-time career of photography & filmmaking. The push to create a successful business at a young age came from the life I've lived of cherishing precious moments with the people that matter most.

I love to blend documenting techniques, timeless prompts, & unique character to every gallery I send off. This work is more than clicking a button & editing on my laptop — it’s about time: time captured, time remembered, and time relived in ways memory alone can’t hold.

My family!
My family is my everything. I was raised by two amazing parents; they led me to be independent & confident in my life. I owe a big part of my success to their encouragement.

I am the youngest of 4 siblings; two brothers & then the oldest, my sister. I grew up in a household filled with laughter & love because of them.
​
I've been living with my sister, her husband & 2 happy boys for 3 years. I knew I'd always regret not living with my sister in such a beautiful time in both of our lives. She borrows clothes from my closet & I get to come home to 2 smiling kids without having to wipe butts!
​
I always loved the quote "you are the people you surround yourself with" & how lucky am I to be a part of all the people I love most.
